# Choosing Blocks

`/blockselector` (aliases `/mineblocks`, `/blockselect`) opens the selector, or the purchase menu while the player hasn't unlocked it. `/blockselector <category>` opens it on a category.

## In the menu

* The top row shows the **choice slots** (4 by default) around a summary of the player's mine.
* Click a block below to add it; click it again (or click it in a choice slot) to remove it.
* The **filter** button cycles the categories (left click next, right click previous). The menu remembers the last category for the session (`selector.remember-category`).
* **Clear Choice** empties the choice being edited.
* **Apply** saves the choice and refills the mine right away. Applying an empty choice puts the mine back on its upgrade tier's blocks.

Nothing touches the mine until Apply. Chosen blocks show whether they are already on the mine or not applied yet. When a player closes the menu with changes they didn't apply, they are told so (`selector.unsaved-reminder`); with `selector.keep-unsaved-changes: true` the changes wait for them the next time they open the menu, otherwise closing drops them.

## Apply cooldown

`apply-cooldown` (seconds, decimals allowed) is the time between two applies, because every apply refills the mine. The Apply button shows the time left and counts down. `pinnablockselector.bypass` skips it. The cooldown is kept when the player relogs.

## How the mine uses the blocks

* The chosen blocks share `mine.selected-weight` in the mine's block weights. With `mine.position-weights` empty they share it evenly; with e.g. `[40, 30, 20, 10]` block #1 is the most common.
* `mine.extra-blocks` is added to every custom mine with its own weight, e.g. `BEACON: 1` keeps an income block your tiers all have.
* `mine.regen-on-apply: true` refills the mine at once (players inside go to the surface); `false` shows the new blocks at the next normal reset.
* Sell prices come from PinnaPrison's `autosell.yml` as for any mine block (an `all` entry there pays every block).
* The choice works whatever the mine type and tier, and survives mine upgrades, expansions and resets.

## No mine yet

A player can choose and apply before they have a mine: the choice is saved and their mine is built with it.

## Losing access

* A player who loses the rank permission goes back to the tier blocks; their choice is kept and comes back if they get the permission again.
* `/blockselector take` removes a bought unlock and the choice.
* If a block is removed from the block list in `config.yml`, it is dropped from every choice.
