# Duel Tokens & the Queue

Duels are a reward for playing the prison, not a replacement: a ranked duel costs a **Duel Token**, and tokens are only earned by mining in the prison.

## Duel Tokens

| Setting                   | Default |                                                                               |
| ------------------------- | ------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `tokens.blocks-per-token` | 25000   | blocks mined per token                                                        |
| `tokens.max`              | 3       | tokens a player can hold (mining past it gives nothing)                       |
| `tokens.bulk-weight`      | 0.0     | blocks broken by enchants / bombs count this much each (0 = only hand mining) |

Autominer and AFK blocks never count. Earning a token plays `sounds.token`, shows `token-earned-actionbar` and sends `token-earned` (set either to `''` to hide it). Admins: `/duel admin tokens <player> <amount>` and `/duel admin nexttoken <player> <blocks>`.

## The ranked queue

`/duel queue` (or the menu button) toggles the queue. Players keep mining while they wait; the action bar shows the search time and queue size (`actionbar.queue`).

* Players are paired by ELO. The allowed gap starts at `queue.elo-range`, grows by `queue.elo-range-growth` per second and stops at `queue.max-elo-range`; the closest ELO wins, the longest wait on a tie.
* Players standing in a `duel.blocked-worlds` world (or the duels world) stay queued but aren't matched until they leave it.
* Two players who already played `ranked.same-opponent-daily-limit` ranked duels today are not matched again.
* After `queue.ghost-after` seconds without a live rival, a [ghost](/p/pinnaduels/playing/ghosts.md) is used.
* If a player disappears before the start, the other goes back to the queue with their waiting time kept.

### Accepting matches

By default queueing is the consent and the duel starts right away. With `queue.require-accept: true` both players get **\[ACCEPT] \[DECLINE]** buttons (`accept-prompt`) and have `queue.accept-seconds` to accept. Declining or letting the time run out locks that player out of the queue for `queue.decline-lockout` seconds and sends the other back to the queue.
